You may wonder why the F do I write an article on such trendy and obvious thing? Hell, you can search the internet and there will be tons of info on shoulder training. And I’m cool with it. However, I’d like to write the Rough Strength version. It’s the sum of my own training experience. Besides, there are lots of people who are new to training and they are wondering how to get those strong cannonball shoulders.
Why am I writing about shoulders? Why not legs? Why not biceps and abs? Because shoulders are the most masculine part of the body (along with traps). Nothing will make you stand out from the crowd like well-developed shoulders. Shoulder is one of the most complex joints, so it’s wise idea to develop them. If you noticed, all the upper body movement patterns are based on the shoulder position.
So here are Rough Strength top 5 exercises for awesome shoulder development: Continue reading →
So the 2012 year is over and gone forever. It was pretty tough. But a lot of good things happened either. The first thing I’ve learned (or just been reminded) is that there is no limit to human stupidity and naivety. There are apocalypses and different ends of the world almost every year. Sometimes several times per year. Why do all those sheepeople still believe that crap? I think, it’s because people are too lazy to think. Do you really believe that end of the world will come in one day or one hour? If you analyze that “prophecy” you’ll find out that the end of the world should have come due to displacement of the Earth’s axis (well, according to the “prophecy” I know). Think about it a bit. Do you really believe that such HUGE process is possible in one day? The Earth evolved during 4.54 billions of years. So that all is crap. And you shouldn’t believe it. I digress. Let’s get back to my theme for today. Continue reading →
Recently I was lucky enough to interview a guy who is a big inspiration for many people around the world, as well as for me. He calls himself TheSupersaiyan. He developed pretty decent levels of strength and mastery in calisthenics. So let’s dive into this interview.
AZ: Hi, Vass! Tell our readers about yourself.
TheSupersaiyan: Hey, I’m 23 years old and I’m great fan of feats of bodyweight strength as you can see from my videos. I love in particular everything related to planche and handstand. Pushing movements are my favorites including all variations of planche push-up, handstand push-up, one arm handstand and so on. However, I also like pulling movements such as front lever, one arm pull up, back lever, and everything that is practiced on gymnastic rings. I wanna be the most multi-purpose as I can be. My goal is to become as strong as I can, to do things that nobody done before and get superhuman strength. Become the legendary supersaiyan :)
AZ: Ok, so how did you get started with strength training? How long have you been doing it? Continue reading →
Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions on handstand training. The most popular of them was: “How to obtain free-standing handstand?” Well, this question is too wide to answer it with couple of words (actually, I could answer with one word “practice”, but this will leave you with almost nothing). So I decided to share my experience and useful tips on how to obtain this spectacular feat of strength.
Handstand is easily one of the most impressive strength feats out there. Continue reading →
